St Helens AA Chtistmas Match
Sunday the 6th December.

After consultation with several members of the committee I have decided to follow the guidance from the Angling Trust. That basically means its up to the individual if they choose to travel between tiers knowing the guidelines attached. Its not mine or the clubs job to tell people what to do. We are in tier 2 so its not an issue to run the match and I have put extra measures in place to ensure a safe match.

I have put the section & individual monies in sealed envelopes to ensure the payouts are as risk free as possible.

The rolling draw will take place outside the Waterside between 8am and 8.45am.

You must place your £15 pools money in a sealed envelope with your name on it in the sealed bucket at the draw.

You must approach the draw area individually, where Ronnie Ranson and myself will draw your peg number. Once you have drawn you must leave the area and go to your peg.

You MUST WEAR A MASK at the draw, when being weighed in and when collecting any monies or bottles after the match.

You must not congregate in groups of over 6.

You must maintain social distancing at all times.

Fishing will be between 10am and 3pm

Pegs being used are:

4 to 37

58 to 91

110 to 160

I will be paying the top four and £40 every 5 pegs, along with bottles for 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th and bottles for the top 2 in each section.

2021 PERMIT SALES

Permit sales for the new season will be live on the club's website from tomorrow morning following the draw for the competition later tonight. Once the draw has been completed the winning permits can be allocated to save entrants purchasing one and then to be drawn as a winner. Physical permits are currently winging their way back from the printers and fingers crossed could be with us by the end of the week?

Existing members still have time to enter our free 2021 permit draw, so if you haven't already, just send a photo with the name and address page and the back page with your permit number on.

Good luck ?

UPDATE ON THE LEGGER
After consultation with the environment agency, we met earlier today with one of their officers on the Legger where samples were taken from various places and will be sent off for testing. Once the results come back we can start to look towards getting the current issues resolved, but for the time being we have been advised to keep the water closed. Once we receive an update back from the EA, I will update here.
Cheers?

St Helens AA – members only matches.

Sunday 18th October 2020

This week we will be using pegs 1 to 37 and 58 to 92

Any pleasure anglers or anglers night fishing will need to vacate these pegs before 8.30am.

All anglers must wear a mask or face covering when booking in & paying their pools to me.

All anglers must follow the latest guidance, you must wear a mask and maintain social distancing whilst waiting for the draw and when waiting for the results or pay out after the match.

When you are being weighed in you must wear a mask.

I will draw the pegs as normal in the order that people book in & pay their pools.

The draw for the match will be outside the Waterside pub, please ensure all social distancing is maintained.

If anglers do not follow the above guidance then I will stop running the matches as I and the club do not want to be responsible for any of our vulnerable members contracting covid 19 as a result of anglers not using common sense, we also do not want to take the risk of prosecution.

I will take the entry fee (£15) from 8.30am with the draw at 9am.

I am not taking bookings, just turn-up and pay on before 9am.

Dave Rigby, match secretary.

The club have agreed and allowed us to hold a new charity event for Claire House Children's Hospice. The event will run from the 27th – 29th November and we have PB Products on board with the prizes and raffle. After the last charity match it was decided that 18 pairs is pretty much the limit we can hit given the space for double swims, so we have brought the event back down to an 18 team event. We are running a reserve list in the event of any late cancellations, if you wish to be added to this list then send me a message and I'll get you added on ?
