Please note that the Christmas Match held on Carr Mill Dam has been moved from Sunday the 13th of November to Saturday 12th November in line with the recent decision to keep running the matches on a Saturday throughout the year.
The AGM has been rescheduled for the Tuesday the 15th of November instead of the 18th of October. This is to enable us to collect all outstanding monies from Permit Sales throughout the year, in-order to deliver an accurate up to date balance sheet for the meeting. The members meeting is still scheduled for the Tuesday 4th of October, and any proposals for the AGM must be handed into the committee by this date at the latest.
Please note that it has recently been passed at out last committee meeting that the current club matches run on a Saturday will continue throughout the year, and will not go to Sunday Opens in October as has been the norm for the last few years. The association extends its apologies to any members who this may inconvenience, but due to circumstances this is unavoidable.
Tickets are now on sale via St Helen`s Angling Centre and Andy Burrows for our annual Cancer Research Charity Match on the 16th of October. Tickets are priced at £25.00 with £5 per ticket being donated to charity. The draw will take place at the Boat House at 8.30 with a breakfast being served at the Boat Club from 7.00am.
Please note that Friday the 26th of August will be the final day for ticket sales for the August 2 Day Event. Tickets will not be available after this dead line and no tickets will be sold on the bank. This is to enable the organisers adequate time to sort out pegs, sections, prize money etc.
We have recently received a complaint from St Helen`s Council regarding the litter issue at the Dam. Can we remind all anglers that as per rule no 7f in the permits “Anyone caught leaving litter, or being in possession of cans, will have their licence taken away for that year” A new bailiff has recently been appointed, and this rule will be enforced with the backing of the committee. Repeated complaints of this nature could result in the Association loosing the fishing rights to this water, along with other waters rented to us by the council. Your cooperation in assisting us to keep this water, along with all our other waters litter free would be appreciated.
Tickets are now available for the August Bank Holiday 2 Day Open on the 28th and 29th of August. Tickets can be obtained from a committee member on match days at Carr Mill Dam, or by contacting one of the following committee members:
