This is a stretch of river for the angler who likes to run the Stick or Waggler and catch plenty of fish. Summer 2002 the river was solid with small chub up to 1lb although the odd one came out at 5lb. Roach can be caught all along the stretch and the odd trout.

Best Bait; Bronze Maggot [little and often] Float Maggot, Meat, or Sweet corn Feeder

There are also some good peg’s along the length for the Feeder angler, best known catch to date being 58lb of Chub,

Waders are a must on this river, but there are one or two peg’s that can be fished from the bank.

Small amount of parking is available but it also involves a 5 –10 minute walk down to the river.

Big fish water this one, with Barbell into double figures, plenty of Chub, Roach, Dace and Pike. Best method on this stretch is the feeder for big fish but make sure have the correct tackle as there are some animals about so strong rods and line is a must.

Bait’s; Meat, Caster, or Corn with plenty of Hemp

There are plenty of pegs for float fish anglers for Roach and Dace, but minnows can be a problem in the warmer months.

Parking is available at the top of the meadow just inside the gate, or the last bungalow in the lane. Then only a short walk to the river.

Controlled length approximately: 0.5 Miles from Style two pegs below island – upriver to Style  one peg past the railway bridge.
