Access to downstream fishing at Cartford Toll Bridge is opposite the Cartford Arms. Access to the 875 yards behind the Cartford Arms is on foot down by the Cartford Arms – Fishing begins after stretch is reached via footpath from the A586. There is a gate beyond the Cartford Arms private car park.
The 224 yards run from opposite Rakes Hall to the gate in Fishery Field 77. It is possible to walk from one end to the other via these gates.
